For the winter season we have worked on the STERN Collection, a set of decorations shaped as volumetric stars with two matching faces. Each star measures 11,5 cm tip to tip and weighs about 100 grams, light enough to hang on the Christmas tree, yet it can also find its place in other festive arrangements: in a wreath, on a holiday table, or in the window of a home dressed for the season.

The name “Stern,” meaning “star” in German, is a tribute to the small town of Lauscha, the place where the blown-glass baubles first appeared that, in the nineteenth century, gradually replaced the fruit and nuts on decorated Christmas trees. The collection thus links today’s porcelain to one of the oldest traditions in Christmas ornaments.

The geometry of the star is completed by underglaze drawings, protected in this way from time and handling, and by touches of gold that add shimmer and catch the lights around them.
